As we get closer and closer to Halloween, you may start watching more horror movies. Personally, I'm a big fan of zombie movies.

Night of the Living Dead, 28 Days Later, and even horror comedies like Zombieland are some of my favorites.

Could a Zombie Apocalypse Really Happen in New Jersey?

But have you ever thought, if a zombie apocalypse were real, how prepared would you be? Or how likely is it that your state would be prepared for such a wild event?

I've already got a plan mapped out for the zombie apocalypse; my wife and I are headed to our friends' place, who have a little make-shift bunker in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania: fewer people, fewer zombies, fewer problems.

The issue with that plan would be getting out of New Jersey, and sadly, New Jersey recently ranked as one of the least prepared states in the country if a zombie apocalypse were a real thing.

In fact, according to Entertainment Focus, New Jersey is the #1 least prepared state in America if a zombie apocalypse broke out.

Why New Jersey Is So Unprepared for Zombies

That's because of our high population density; per every 100,000 people, we have less than one airport, less than one hospital, and only 2 hunting stores, and if you've ever seen a zombie movie, a good hunting store is essential.

Where Is the Safest Place in America During a Zombie Apocalypse?

Now, sure, this is a 100 percent hypothetical situation that's just kind of fun to run over in your head, but it really makes you think, what if?

By the way, if you are looking for the safest place in the country to go in case of a zombie apocalypse, you'll want to head North to Alaska.

Alaska has an incredibly low population density, plus I think it's harder for zombies to move in the snow and ice.
