What's the most startling thing you've found in your backyard? I have a few rats that make their way across my property from time to time, and a woodpecker that likes to peck at my siding a few times a year, but that's really it. Maybe you've seen a raccoon, or maybe you live in a remote enough part of the state where you see bears in your backyard. That can be seriously startling!

What about a massive snake that's in no way, shape, or form native to the state of New Jersey? Snakes don't really bother me, but if I found this thing slithering through my backyard, I'd be freaked out.

In Freehold, New Jersey, someone found an 8 Foot Burmese Python had made a little home underneath the shed in their backyard. Burmese Pythons are by no stretch of the imagination native to Jersey, so this is clearly someone's pet snake that got loose and decided to set up shop in someone's backyard.

Fortunately, the Monmouth County SPCA was able to come to the animal's rescue, even if it did mean the homeowner would have to lose part of their shed.

If I saw this thing in my backyard, I'd probably sell my house and move, and I don't even have an issue with snakes!

Fortunately, at this point in time, the snake has been rehomed to a snake expert in Jersey who has the correct permits, habitat, and training to handle an exotic animal of this size.
