We announced a few months ago that some major retailers will not be opening their doors this Thanksgiving holiday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Target, Walmart, and Dick's Sporting Goods already made the decision not open on Thanksgiving back in July

Best Buy, Boscov's, Home Depot, Foot Locker, Kohl's, Macy's, Office Depot, Ulta, and Under Armour have also made the decision to remain closed for Thanksgiving

Well, earlier this week, Simon Properties also announced that they will not open their malls this Thanksgiving holiday either...That includes the Ocean County Mall, Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls, and Jackson Premium Outlets in Jackson.

According to a Press Release from Simon Properties:

"In these challenging times, we made the decision that we will not open on Thanksgiving Day, instead allowing our associates to spend the holiday with their loved ones."

They did mention that they would reopen the malls for "Black Friday"

I personally think that the malls should not be open on Thanksgiving whether we are dealing with a pandemic or not. Let the employees spend the day with their family and friends; They should be able to enjoy, the football and all the food too
