Walmart Announces Major Store Closures, The First Of 2024.
You know times are tough when a retail giant like Walmart has to close stores across the country due to poor performance and earnings.
NJ.com reports that last year, in 2023 Walmart had to close 24 stores across the country, including laying off 200 people in the Garden State who worked at a Walmart distribution center.
Now, NJ.com is saying that more store closings are in the works for the massive chain.
Right now, it looks like Jersey is safe from closings as the two stores Walmart is closing in February this year are both located in California.
One in San Diego, and another in El Cajon.
However, it's still concerning that a store as big, popular, and steadfast as Walmart is announcing closures, hopefully New Jersey doesn't see the effects of these ongoing closures.
