Tattoos have been increasingly popular and more common over the past couple of years.

I myself love getting inked up about once a year or so, and for years, I went to Slinging Ink in Point Pleasant. Although my favorite artist now works at a tattoo shop in North Jersey, I'm on the hunt for a new tattoo shop.

Personally, I'm a big fan of your traditional and Sailor Jerry style of tattoos. Nothing too flashy, but still fun to look at.

Recently, though, there's been an increase in tattoo styles that I've never heard of before, and I'm curious what you think about them.

Tattoo artists combine some of the ashes of a recently deceased loved one into the ink they draw into their tattoo guns, and then tattoo you up with a memorial tattoo like no other.

Apparently, there are, of course, some extra cleaning steps that go into this to make sure that it's safe, but this is something I've never heard of before until I stumbled upon the Monmouth County tattoo artist, Taylor Clinch.

She specializes in fine line tattoos and has also gotten noticed for her work with cremation tattoos, according to NJ.com.

As someone who loves getting tattoos, I think this is an amazingly personal way to memorialize a loved one that you've lost.

Is It A Good Idea To Get A Tattoo To Memorialize A Lost Loved One?

However, there is something I always tell people to keep in mind if they're getting a memorial tattoo for a recently deceased loved one.

Not everyone likes tattoos, and personally, I don't think it's right to memorialize someone with a tattoo if they weren't fans of them in life.

However, if you feel as though it's the perfect way to remember someone close to you that you lost, this could be a great way to give them a permanent tribute.
