Here's a couple ideas for some Earth Day activities.

Earth Day is credited to U.S. Senator and Governor Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin. When he observed the devastation of the 1969 Santa Barbara, California oil spill, he created an "environmental teach-in", held on April 22, 1970, which became Earth Day. Now the date is celebrated throughout the world.
