I had never seen Hocus Pocus until a few years ago when my wife introduced me to it. My fondness for it has grown over the years, and it's definitely one of the movies we watch repeatedly this time of year (along with Nightmare Before Christmas and the like). It's cute but not overly saccharine, it's mostly appropriate for my almost-four-year-old, and it's still the hottest Sarah Jessica Parker has ever looked.

The BlueClaws will be showing Hocus Pocus on the big screen in centerfield on October 30th as part of their BooClaws Halloween Spectacular, but if you can't wait for next weekend, you can see an outdoor screening in Barnegat this Saturday, October 24th!

The Barnegat Township Recreation Department is hosting a screening of Hocus Pocus at the Recreation Department building at 900 West Bay Avenue in Barnegat, behind the Edwards School. The movie starts at 6pm. If the weather is crummy, there is a rain date of Friday October 30th, so keep an eye on the Facebook event page for updates.

You can bring blankets and chairs to watch the movie, and obviously pandemic restrictions will still be in place. Masks will be required, and you and your group of family and friends will have to set up your chairs and blankets six feet from other groups.

There have been a ton of events cancelled this year, so it's good to see at least something going on that you can bring the kids out for.
