Things are starting to take shape at the Ocean County Mall, particularly where Sears once was.

The Ocean County Mall just put out a statement saying that LA Fitness will be building a 34,000 square foot gym that will feature cardio areas, studios with group fitness classes, free weights, a swimming pool, and personal training. They are hoping to open by early 2020.

Also coming to the Ocean County Mall is HOMESENSE- A new kind of home store that invites customers to discover aisles of unexpected finds from around the world and an ever-changing selection of famous brands – all with genuine value.

They are looking to open during the second half of 2020

FITNESS CLUB AND HOME RETAILER TO OPEN AT OCEAN COUNTY MALL

 (Toms River, NJ), May 8, 2019 — The redevelopment at Ocean County Mall continues as Simon®, a global leader in premier shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations, today announced that LA Fitness will open a state-of-the-art club and Homesense expects to debut at the Jersey Shore’s retail hub.

LA Fitness will offer a wide range of amenities for people of all ages and fitness levels on the Hooper Ave. side of the mall across from the new dining location BJ’s Brewhouse & Restaurant, which is scheduled to be opening this summer. The 34,000 square foot gym will feature cardio areas, studios with group fitness classes, free weights, a swimming pool, and personal training.  Building construction will begin soon on the new LA Fitness at Ocean County Mall which will open no later than the 1st quarter of 2020.
