It’s No Surprise That This Is The Most Hated Halloween Candy In New Jersey
Halloween is just a few short weeks away, and candy is top of mind for a lot of us here in Ocean County as we prepare our homes for trick-or-treaters.
Trick or treating, by the way, is going to be on October 30th for Toms River as well as its surrounding towns.

All the details on trick or treating in Toms River are right here.
Regardless of when trick or treating is, one thing is for sure; you can't go more than a few feet into a grocery store without running into the Halloween candy section.
And there are a lot of good options.
Mini Kit-Kats, 3 Musketeers, Milkyway, Snickers, Reese's Cups, Butterfingers, Almond Joy, the list can go on and on.
And if you're the house that can somehow give out full-sized candy bars then good for you!
Now, we could talk about good candy all day long, but what I've been curious about is what the most hated candy in Ocean County, in fact, all of New Jersey, could be.
I threw the question up on our 105.7 The Hawk Facebook page, and the responses started to roll in.
Smarties made the list, and so did NECO Wafers and between you and I, I don't think I've ever met someone who enjoys NECO Wafers.
In addition, black licorice made the list once or twice and so did Circus Peanuts.
But none of those are considered to be the most hated candy in New Jersey.
Response after response on our poll revealed the same candy over and over.
Candy Corn.
Invented in the mid 1880's, candy corn has been a staple during Halloween, but is hated by more people than like it.
Do you agree? Is candy corn the worst Halloween candy out there?
Feel free to let me know you're least favorite candy!
