Is The Blood Sucking "Kissing Bug" in New Jersey?

It just might be possible and it's just ANOTHER thing we now have to worry about!

According to NJ.com, The blood-sucking insect known as the “kissing bug” has been spotted in Delaware, just over the Delaware Bay waters across from South Jersey.

I vaguely once remember hearing about this disgusting bug, so I kept on reading the article to get more info. Here are some excerpts from the NJ.com article that I will share with you. It's not pretty. Are you ready???

Known as triatomines, kissing bugs usually were only found in the southern U.S., Mexico, Central America and South America, according to the CDC.

A “kiss” on the face from these cone-nosed bloodsuckers can spread a deadly illness known as Chagas disease, which has been spreading throughout the country and to places not typically seen, including Pennsylvania.

The disease is spread through their poop, which can carry a deadly parasite known as Trypanosoma cruzi.

Here’s how it works: The kissing bug usually bites people on their faces, near the eyes and the mouth (hence the nickname). If the poop gets into the wound, eyes or mouth, it can spread the parasite and cause infection, according to the CDC.
