This favorite New Jersey Beach community celebrates 134 years today.  Looks pretty good for its age.  I know, I know, dad joke.  Seriously, one of my favorite spots at the Jersey Shore is Lavallette.  We are currently staying there until we find a house.  #ThankYouInLaws.  I mean, not a bad place to stay, even in the winter months.

Lavallette was founded in 1887 on December 21st.  This area houses less than 2000 people according to the latest available census data.

We have only been here a few months and have already noticed how close this community is.  We witnessed that first hand during the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

You may have a Lavallette address, but you could be part of Toms River, you could be in Ortley, but one thing is for sure, you're not in Seaside.  Too far south.  One would argue, and google maps will confirm, with its red outline, that Lavallette sits between Bryn Mawr Ave. and Trenton Ave.

One thing we love about the area, during the summer, many of the beachgoers are residence or have connections to the residence in the area.  It keeps the area peaceful and clean, at least in my opinion.

What's the best way to celebrate a birthday, around Christmas?  Lights, yes tons of Christmas lights.  We took a little trip around the area and found some amazing Christmas displays.  We need to step up our light game.  Some of these displays were well done.
