The Odds Are Small, But New Jersey Could Have A White Christmas This Year
Do you remember the last time there was a white Christmas in Jersey?
I'm not going to lie, it doesn't seem like we've had one for years, and it makes you wonder if we'll ever see a white Christmas again.
Sure, we still get snow in the Garden State but we haven't had any major measurable snowfall near the Jersey Shore for the past three years or so.
It now looks like the odds of a white Christmas in Jersey are low, but that doesn't mean it's impossible with this next round of frigid weather on the way.
When Was The Last Time NJ Had Snow On Christmas Day?
You'll have to look pretty far back to see when Jersey had a White Christmas last.
According to Patch, New York has had 15 White Christmases since 1912, and Philadelphia has had 7 White Christmases since 1948.
The last time Jersey had anything close to a White Christmas was back in 2009, so we are definitely due for some powder on Christmas Morning.
There Is A Chance NJ Will Have A White Christmas In 2025
There are a few different things at play here.

Firstly, we are currently in a cold spell in Jersey with temperatures dipping into the low teens each day.
Patch also reports that we could see a small band of snowfall on Christmas Eve.
Since the ground is cold, and we have a dusting to a coat of snow on the way it looks like we have a 10 to 25 percent chance of a White Christmas in Jersey this year.
Sure, the odds are small but there's still a chance we could have some snow on Christmas this year.
