Toms River Ocean of Love Girl Helps Out “Make-A-Wish” for the Holidays
A six-year-old Toms River girl did something pretty awesome for the holidays.
If the name Faith Calvo sounds familiar, it might be because you heard me talk about her during the Ocean of Love Billboard Radiothon.
Faith is a Cancer survivor who has been on the ladder with me when I have gone up on the billboard on the very first day of the Radiothon, and she has also been there for me as I come down off the billboard on the final day of the Radiothon. Faith and her father Drew are the ones who hand me that awesome check with the parade of firetrucks arrive at the Radiothon
Faith was granted a "Wish" back in 2017, and she wanted to do something nice in return for the "Make-A-Wish" foundation
According to a press release:
From the beginning of November through December 24th, “believers” of all ages mailed letters to Santa at the big red letterbox at any local Macy’s store. For every letter received, Macy’s committed to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million, to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
On the evening of December 17th, escorted by a motorcade of firetrucks from multiple area fire departments, Faith arrived at Macy’s to a cheering crowd and delivered an astounding 1,072 letters.
Faith’s impressive collection of holiday letters came from across her community, including the Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Company, the East Dover Volunteer Fire Company, the Silverton Volunteer Fire Company, East Dover Elementary School, Intermediate East Middle School, Silver Bay Elementary School, Cub Scout & Boy Scout Packs 92 & 59 of Silverton, and Ocean Gymnastics.
Great job Faith!!!
