After 26 years of being a haven for summer fun, it appears as though a very popular Jersey Shore waterpark is getting ready to close its doors for good, as plans were announced that the waterpark would not be reopening for the summer of 2026.

In Seaside Heights, we've got Breakwater Beach, in LBI, there's Thundering Surf, and at the beaches in South Jersey, there's legendary waterparks like the OC Waterpark, which sits right on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

However, after 25 years of helping to create summer memories, it appears as though the beloved Splash Zone in Wildwood will not be opening for the 2026 season.

According to NJ.com, the park doesn't plan to ever reopen and will soon be part of a redevelopment plan.
Splash Zone sits just off the boardwalk, and it's a prime real estate spot, so it looks like the plan is for the waterpark to be torn down and for a new hotel to be erected in its place.
Redevelopment Plans Call For A New Hotel To Replace Splash Zone
The hotel would sit directly across from Morey's Pier, and the idea is that people will enjoy sitting on the balconies of the new hotel while watching people walk the boards and ride the rides.
Personally, I think a waterpark is cooler, but it appears as though Splash Zone will be no more.
