These New Pizza Box Trash Cans On The Seaside Heights Boardwalk Are Genius

My favorite place to hang out during the weekend is Seaside Heights. My wife and I love heading over to the island on Saturdays and Sundays, and spend the day on the beach reading, enjoying the views, and of course, grabbing a drink before heading home for the day.

And something I always look at while walking down the boardwalk is the trash cans that line the boardwalks.

Trash Cans On The Boardwalk Tend To Fill Up Quickly In The Summer

Yes, it's weird, but over the years, I've noticed that once we get into the thick of things in the summer season, the trash cans on the boardwalk start to fill up fast, thanks to all of the people grabbing pizza on the boardwalk and then just throwing the entire pizza box into the trash.

And there's nothing inherently wrong with that, I mean, pizza boxes go into the trash. However, a few years ago, when I was in Ocean City, just a few miles down the Parkway, I noticed that the boardwalk there had trash cans specifically designed for pizza boxes: they were larger, the exact size of a pizza box, and prevented the trash cans from overflowing because of all the pizza boxes.

I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And yes, I know, I'm easily amused.

Seaside Heights, NJ, Now Has Pizza Box Trash Cans On The Boardwalk

Well, now Seaside Heights is on board with the pizza box trash cans, because when we were on the island over the weekend, we saw them lining the boardwalk!

As far as I can tell, these are a new addition to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, and will go a long way in making sure our boardwalk stays looking good all summer long!
