Local Sports Teams Among World’s Most Valuable

Seven local teams are among the 50 most valuable sports teams of 2013, according to Forbes Magazine.

9. New York Giants

14. New York Jets

15. Philadelphia Eagles

23. New York Knicks

41. Philadelphia Phillies

45. New York Mets

At an estimated $2.3 billion, the Yankees are the highest-ranked American team of any sport on the list behind three European football clubs Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona.

Worth approximately $1.468 billion, the Giants are the fourth National Football League team on the list.

Despite an early exit from this year's playoffs, the Knicks are still highest ranked of only three NBA teams to make the list.
