Ch-ch-changes: Why This Classic Rock DJ Is Going Keto
Now that football season is over, it's time for me to change my life.
I have been battling with obesity for longer than I'd care to admit. I am what many will call a 'yoyo dieter'. The truth of it is, I love my sugar. Candy, cookies, cakes, even ice cream. I also love my carbs. Potato chips of all flavors, any types of pasta, and bread. When I finally get fed up with myself and my weight, I diet. The pattern goes something like this: I quit all the junk foods, lose the weight, pull out all the old clothes, feel great, and then I start snacking on chips and sweet-tarts again. Then I gain weight back, and then some. I'll eventually get fed up again, wash, rinse, & repeat.
Now I'm at that point where this can’t go on. I'm now considered “pre-diabetic” and pushing 300lbs. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! It’s time to change, and change I will.
After doing massive research, via YouTube, blogs, books and talking with people, I have come to a decision: I am going to be starting the Keto diet. I start today (Monday, February 4th) with the 3 to 7-day water fast, then nothing but fat and protein with 20 grams or less of carbs. I am excited to start this new chapter in my life, and having you to keep me accountable will help drive me to success. I was thinking about posting pictures of this journey, but I’ll wait until I start to notice the changes. Look for more in the coming weeks,
I will try to blog weekly. Rock on party people, Pete.
