I'll be the first to admit that summer at the shore is like nothing else. Long days at the beach, backyard bbq's, and the sun stays in the sky until 8:30 PM. It's the best. However, this past weekend, I spent a few days in Ortley Beach with my family; they rented a house for the weekend, and I'm also convinced that the beach during the Fall produces some of the best sunrises on the planet.

New Jersey Sunrises In The Fall Just Hit Differently

This past Saturday, I woke up a little early, and snuck up to the roof of this house we were staying at in Ortley Beach, and was able to capture a part of the sunrise, and I'm just blown away at just how gorgeous the deep red sun looked reflecting off a calm Atlantic Ocean. It was like nothing I've seen in a while.

I've lived in a few different spots during my radio career: Reading, Pennsylvania; Burnham, Pennsylvania; and even State College, Pennsylvania. In the mountains and in the city, you just don't get a sunrise that can compete with what we get to see at the Jersey Shore on a daily basis.

What Makes Jersey Sunrises So Special?

Maybe it's because of the beach, maybe it's because of the ocean, maybe it's because the salt air is hitting your face while you enjoy the view, but there really is something about a crisp fall morning, watching the sunrise over the beach in Jersey, that is an indescribable feeling and a view you really can't get anywhere else.
