How Do You Beat The Heat?
I know I'm in the minority, but I love winter. I don't like the heat, and I can't stand the humidity. Here are some ideas to keep cool.
Drink More Water
Staying hydrated is important all the time, but moreso in the summer. The hotter it is, the more you sweat, and the more you need to refill your internal water supply.
Optimize Your Fans
Make sure your ceiling fan runs counter-clockwise during the summer for optimal cooling.
Keep Your Food Cool
There aren't a ton of great cold dinners, but Lifehacker has some good suggestions. You can also keep the heat out of the house by cooking outside. Obviously cooking outside puts you in the heat, but at least you can cool down when you get back in.
Cool Down Your Car
This Japanese YouTube clip shows an interesting way to quickly cool down your oven-like car. I tried it today and was surprised to see it actually felt like it made a difference.
Seriously. In the summertime, the less clothing the better. Clothes trap heat, so shut the blinds and go au naturel in your home!
