We have heard many times this holiday season the song "White Christmas" by many different artists...but how true is that song? How often do we actually see a "white Christmas" here in New Jersey?

I decided to do some, digging, no pun intended, and find out what our chances are of actually having a "snowy" Christmas here in the Graden State. In a recent Patch article, Accuweather says "typically in South Jersey, there's a 25 percent chance of at least 1 inch of snow on the ground by the holiday weekend, while the chance of having snow on the ground is greater in North Jersey at 50 percent". So as you can see the chances are less likely the further south you go in the state.

According to NJ.COM, It has been 12 years since we saw snow on the ground for Santa's arrival. We have not seen a "white" Christmas (over an inch of snow) since 2009.

So here we are in 2021 and dare I say in Dan Zarrow's forecast he is saying today that we could see some snow showers Christmas Eve.....wow! wait don't get too excited he also says it could be rain showers...so does that mean we have a 50/50 shot at some flakes before Santa gets here at the Jersey Shore?

So here is Dan Zarrow's forecast for Friday, Christmas Eve...

THURSDAY NIGHT INTO CHRISTMAS EVE FRIDAY....... CHANCE OF AN EVENING OR OVERNIGHT SNOW SHOWER...LOW NEAR 32

We will have to wait and see :)
