Cape May Zoo Welcomes New Camel
Cape May County Zoo has added a new arrival to the zoo family: a six-month-old Bactrian camel named Walter.
E. Marie Hayes, liaison to the Cape May County Park and Zoo, introduced Walter, who is coming to the Zoo from Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York.
There are two species of camels, the Dromedary and the Bactrian. Cape May Zoo now has a member from each species.
Walter is still too young to join Mary, the Zoo's Dromedary camel, so for now he'll stay in the habitat with the llamas and alpacas.
You can see Walter and the rest of the animals at Cape May Zoo daily from 10am until 4:30pm.
