Rumors Were Always Spreading As To What Would Move Into Foodtown

Over the years, there have been many rumors about what would take over the vacant spot. Personally, I'd have loved to see a Wegmans take over the massive building. That's not happening. Lidl Has Signed A Lease To Open Its First Store In Toms River, NJ

According to the Instagram page of Catalyst Real Estate Partners, it looks like Lidl has officially signed a lease on the 19,000-square-foot space that was once Foodtown, off Route 37 East in Toms River!

Lidl has been growing in popularity over the past few years; you can get good groceries at a price that won't break the bank. Up until now, the only towns in Ocean County with a Lidl were Brick and Lanoka Harbor. Neither of which was super easy to get to from Toms River, so having a Lidl in that prime location is going to be awesome.

When Will Lidl Open In Toms River, NJ?

As of now, there's no exact opening date for the new Lidl in Toms River; however, I would like to think that since they're moving into the old Foodtown, a lot of the infrastructure that's needed for a grocery store is already in place, and that it can be a quick and smooth move-in.
