A Mexican-Italian Steakhouse Is Coming To The Old CB Huntington’s Spot In Bayville, NJ

I have been following what's going on with one building off Route 9 since I moved to Jersey back in 2022, and it finally looks like we have some solid confirmation as to the building's next phase.

Whether you've lived in the Ocean Gate/Beachwood area for a few months, a few years, or your whole life, odds are you're familiar with the old building off Route 9 that used to be Bill's BBQ Shack, and before that, CB Huntington's.

Sadly, Bill's BBQ Shack closed sometime around 2022, and in fact, they had a huge auction to sell off some of the cool decor they had in the restaurant. More on that here.

The Building Has Been The Center Of Conversation For Years

Last year, it was announced that the former CB Huntington's/Bill's BBQ Shack would be repurposed, likely into another restaurant, but there was a lot of red tape that officials had to go through, and it's been all quiet since then.

That is, until I saw a post by Councilman James Byrnes confirming what's in store for the building's future.

The Future Of The Old CB Huntingdon's Has Been Revealed

According to a post on the Councilman's social media pages, the former CB Huntington's has been approved for restaurant use, and something is planning to open up there in Febuary (ideally) of next year.

The new restaurant is still shrouded in some mystery; we don't have a name, we don't have, we don't know if it's going to be a chain or a mom-and-pop spot, and we also don't fully know the menu.

What New Restaurant Is Coming To The Old CB Huntington's?

What we do know, from Councilman James Byrnes post, is that the restaurant will feature a combination of Mexican and Italian food and will also be somewhat of a steakhouse.

Regardless, I'm just excited to see something finally get ready to open up in this building.
