This Tiny Takeout Joint In The Villas Beat My 30-Year Go-To Seafood Spot
I've only lived in Jersey full-time for five years; however, I've been coming to the Shore my entire life, and in that time, I've tried a ton of different seafood places around Jersey. So, when I'm still finding amazing places to get fresh seafood that I've never tried before, I'm always pleasantly surprised.

Earlier in the summer, my parents rented a house in the Villas, just outside of Cape May in South Jersey. They live near Philadelphia, and the beaches in Jersey are still their go-to for a little getaway in the summer.
The Lobster House In Cape May, NJ Has Been Our Seafood Spot For Years
Usually, when we're near Cape May, our go-to for a seafood dinner is the Lobster House, but not the actual sit-down restaurant; we aren't that fancy, but the take-out area right next to it, where you can eat your fried flounder on the dock out back, overlooking the bay.
A Small Take Out Joint Changed Our 30 Year Tradition Of Going To The Lobster House
However, for the first time in the better part of 30 years, we never made it over to the Lobster House because we found a new favorite for seafood near Cape May, and I was blown away by how good the seafood was. And it was one of those places you'd drive right by if you didn't know you were looking for it.
Fish And Fancy Has Some Of The Best Seafood At The Jersey Shore

Fish And Fancy is a small takeout joint in the Villas. It has a few picnic tables you can eat at, but for the most part you just pick your food up and go. When we went there, we got fried flounder, crab-stuffed flounder, calamari, and some salmon, and wow, we were blown away by how good the food was! The fried flounder was perfectly crispy, my broiled flounder with crab was full of flavor, and the calamari was a little different than what we were expecting, but it was still amazing.
Located at 2406 Bayshore Road in the Villas, next time you're doing a day trip to the Cape May area, this place is worth the short drive to grab some amazing seafood.
