Here’s The Meaning Behind Blue Halloween Baskets In New Jersey
Halloween is fast approaching, and even in my 30s, this time of year still makes me a little excited.
The anticipation of the Fall weather, the flannel season is on the way, and spending a Saturday afternoon watching College football at a brewery is a weekly tradition.
Spirit Halloween is already popping up all over Jersey, and people are getting ready to decorate their homes for the spooky season.
My wife comes home from work almost every day with a new Halloween decoration for our house, I'm obligated to say I love it.
But this year, you may see something a little different from Trick or Treaters that you may not be aware of.

Traditionally, Halloween baskets for trick or treating are orange, or if you're like me growing up you just used an an empty pillow case.
You could fit more candy.
But recently I was scrolling through the Facebook page Jersey Roots and came across a post that made me stop for a moment.
It was a picture of a store endcap, filled with blue trick-or-treat baskets and the picture explained that blue trick-or-treat baskets might be carried by kids with autism.
They may not be able to communicate with others and may not say "trick-or-treat" when you come to the door, according to the post.
It's to make sure that everyone can have a fun and happy trick-or-treating experience.
If you need to get a head start on your costume this year, here is where you can find all the Spirit Halloweens in Jersey.
