Parking at the Jersey Shore can be at a premium during the summer time; there are hundreds of thousands of people flocking to our shore towns trying to get some primo parking.

You Can Find Free Parking In Seaside Heights, NJ

Personally, when I go to Seaside Heights for a day, I'll just park near the bay where parking is free and just walk the 6 blocks up to the boardwalk.

You get a nice walk in, and burn off enough calories to warrant a cold beer from Sawmill before hitting Funtown Beach.

Jersey Shore Parking Rules You Should Never Ignore

There are plenty of places you technically can't park at in any beach town, though, and these are warnings you want to heed.

If there's a tow-away zone, a sign that says permit parking only, or anything that may make you think you shouldn't park there, then don't.

In the summer, parking enforcement at the Jersey Shore is no joke; you will get a ticket if you're parked in the wrong spot, or worse, you could see your car get towed.

Then there are other signs offering warnings that may not come with any legal consequences, but you'll want to heed the warning anyway.

If You See A Sign That Says 'Warning Poop Zone' Do Not Park There

Talk about a headline I thought I'd never write, but TikTok user @Jotosa posted online that her neighbor in Wildwood puts a sign out front of their house every year, and every year, people ignore.

There's a sign on a tree out front of their home that says "Warning, Poop Zone" and they don't put that sign up to try and reserve their own parking space, but rather as a warning that visitors should listen to.

I mean, could you imagine seeing that sign and thinking to yourself, 'Yea, okay, whatever' and then parking your car, only to come back after a few hours at the beach to find that mess on your car?

I'd be furious, mainly with myself for not listening to a clearly posted warning.

Jersey is also home to some pretty wild laws you'll want to check out, too.
