What NJ Wake-Up Word/Phrase Would You Love To use With Alexa?
If you could choose your own Amazon Alexa "Wake-up" word, what NJ word/phrase would it be? Easy now! Don't get carried away.
There were only four words you could use to alert Amazon’s Alexa to listen to your requests. These commands are called “wake-up” words. Your choices included “Alexa, “Amazon”, Computer, and/or Echo.

Amazon has now added a fifth wake-up word. The company announced on July 15, 2021, that the word “Ziggy” will also be an option to which your smart speaker will respond.
My first thought. This new name could cause a problem in my house because my 12-year-old tabby cat’s name is Ziggy.
Really, of all names?! Something I am sure quickly became annoying for those households where an Alexa resided. Did that happen to you?
It’s not that difficult to change the word you would like to address your Alexa, and it doesn’t matter which Amazon smart speaker you own. Resetting the wake-up word is simple whether you have an Echo Dot, Echo Input, Echo Show, or any other Amazon model.
Let’s have a little fun. What if you could choose your wake-up word? What if you could choose a word or phrase that was all New Jersey and really put your attitude into the way you spoke to your smart speaker?
