Food Recalls Are on the Rise in New Jersey

And now, it looks like one of the most popular convenience stores in the state is issuing recalls for several beverages due to the possibility of foreign contaminants inside the drinks.

Now, in my opinion, a recall does mean the system is working; a problem was found, a statement was issued, and there's a plan in place to rectify the issue.

That being said, it's still alarming when you think the food and beverages you're picking up are safe, when they may actually not be.

It looks like Wawa has issued a recall for the following:

  • Wawa Strawberry Lemonade, 16oz plastic bottles
  • Strawberry Milk, Lowfat Milk, Plastic Bottle 16oz
  • Wawa HVD (Whole) Milk, Plastic Bottle 16oz

According to the recall, there may be foreign contaminants in the bottles of lemonade and milk.

What To Do If You Bought the Recalled Wawa Drinks

This Class II recall means that there is the potential for adverse health effects if the recalled products are consumed, and the products should be pulled from shelves. If you think you have one of the contaminated beverages, don't drink it, and throw it out.

That being said, Wawa is a pretty lucky place to buy a lottery ticket!
