Very warm forecast for the Ocean of Love Billboard Radiothon
Resident weather guy Dan Zarrow admits this is the first time he's crafted a forecast specifically for a billboard.
What a week of weather to live on a billboard! At the Ocean of Love billboard radiothon launch on Monday, I chatted with Andy Chase about the wide variety of weather conditions he's faced over the years. From cold to wind to thunderstorms to even a bit of snow, Mother Nature has always added an extra challenge to Andy's endeavors.
This year's billboard forecast is headlined by record-breaking warmth, although changes are expected for the second half of the week. Here's a rundown of what Andy can expect high above Hooper Avenue...
Tuesday
Sunny and breezy, with very warm temperatures. High 82.
Andy will be working on his "Marianne tan" while enjoying the sunny, summerlike weather.
Wednesday
Mostly sunny to start, with clouds increasing late. Still very warm. High 83.
Andy will be wishing he had an air conditioner installed on top of the billboard.
Thursday
Mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. A bit cooler. High 75.
Andy will dodge some raindrops and watch for lightning, in case he temporarily needs to seek safe shelter.
Friday
Mostly cloudy and breezy, with a continuing shower chance. High 73.
Andy will descend from his billboard perch on a pretty dreary weather day. Hopefully the final radiothon tally board will provide some sunshine!
Saturday
Turning much colder, with a brisk wind. Partly to mostly sunny skies. High 60.
Andy will be in bed, glad the radiothon is over, just in time before the autumn chill returns.
While Andy's job will be made slightly easier this week by the near-record warm temperatures, he still needs your help to raise $105,700 for Ocean of Love by Friday! Donate now, check out the items up for auction, and read real stories from the people Ocean of Love has helped.
Best of luck to Andy and the entire Flight Crew in supporting a great cause this week!
