A lot of changes are happening due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now more than ever, we have to find new ways of doing things. Everything is changing. Who knows when we will be able to go again to a sporting event or a concert.

Some of the things we have always taken for granted is no longer.

Small business is being hit so hard, and so is the movie industry. There is absolutely no word on when movie theaters will reopen, so some towns are going back to the days of the drive-in movie.

Mayor Amato just announced that Berkeley Township is planning on three drive-in movie nights this summer at Veterans Park starting on Saturday, June 6th. There are four movies to choose from for the first drive-in movie night, and they are asking you to choose between Hotel Transylvania, Madagascar, Shrek, and Trolls

Brick officials have also announced that the Township of Brick will be hosting Drive-In Movies at Windward Beach every Friday evening from June 5 through July 3.

  • June 5th- The Lion King
  • June 12th- Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker
  • June 19th- Frozen 2
  • June 26th- Jumanji: The Next Level
  • July 3rd- Toy Story 4

According to Brick Mayor Ducey:

“We usually have our Drive-In Movies in August, however, once Governor Murphy announced that drive-ins were allowed, I asked our Recreation Department to get some going quickly.  We want to give people the chance to get out and have some quality family time. Hopefully this is the start of a fun summer in Brick Township."
