TR man who climbed Skyscraper, arrested for threatening to kill police officers

The Toms River man who gained national attention a month ago when he climbed the Skyscraper ride on Casino Pier in Seaside Heights protesting charges against him in Bay Head for threatening to kill 3 police officers has been arrested again for make the same kind of threat but to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

Chris Angulo, 46, has been charged with making Terroristic Threats During a Declared State of Emergency, announced Ocean County First Assistant Prosecutor Michael Nolan, Jr. on Thursday.

Assistant Prosecutors Nolan said that on Wednesday, Angulo contacted the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office directly and made threats that he was going to kill police officers.

Angulo had previously made specific threats against members of the Bay Head Borough Police Department in May and was charged with three counts of Terroristic Threats at that point.

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit located Angulo at a residence in Toms River Wednesday and he was taken into custody without incident.

Angulo is presently lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Bay Head Police Chief William Hoffman told 92.7 WOBM News on June 22 that Angulo has been charged with three counts of terroristic threats after he threatened 3 Bay Head Police Officers recently on a video he created online.

Angulo later posted a video to his YouTube channel where he acknowledged the charges by asking a Bay Head Police Officer "have you heard about me threatening to kill the police with scissors?"

The officer said he saw the (now removed) video on Angulo's YouTube channel of him threatening the police in Bay Head.

Angulo kept asking the officer why he didn't charge him with making threats.

"Why not four or five (counts) right? Why not five or six?"

The officer eventually politely walked away and said "have a good day."
