New Jersey man faces life in prison for peddling dangerous amount of hard drugs

A Manchester Township resident is looking at a sentence of up to life in prison after being charged with running a drug trafficking operation of some pretty hard narcotics.

Dyshawn Moss, 43, of Manchester has been convicted of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger.

This stems from a 2019 investigation and subsequent arrest of Moss at his apartment in Manchester Township where on May 24 of that year Attorney Sellinger said that law enforcement found, in his possession, more than1,000 grams of fentanyl, more than 1,300 grams of heroin, and more than 2,600 grams of cocaine, drug-packaging materials, more than $150,000 in cash, and a 9-mm Taurus handgun loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.

Attorney Sellinger said that for drug trafficking, Moss faces a minimum of 10 years in prison with the max being life behind bars and a fine of up to $ 10 million, and he would face up to 10 years in prison for the gun possession charge and have to pay a fine here of up to $250,000.

In addition to that, Moss could get five years in prison at a minimum and up to life in prison along with a fine of up to $250,000 for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Moss is scheduled to be sentenced in March of 2023.

U.S. Attorney Sellinger said that in this case, the government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Vera Varshavsky and Olta Bejleri of the Criminal Division in Newark and that the defense Counsel is Mark Davis Esq., in Hamilton, New Jersey.
