Pop-up party invitations that are going viral on social media, specifically Instagram and TikTok are causing some New Jersey towns to cancel their 4th of July fireworks celebrations.
Depending on who you ask or what you read, last weekend's events in Long Branch, New Jersey caused quite a stir. The Long Branch Office Of The Mayor described said that "thousands of young people from all over the state gathered along the beachfront around Pier Village." They went on to say that "The crowd was eventually dispersed. The police arrested four individuals for disorderly persons offenses." A few days later, the Office Of the Director of Public Safety made a surprising announcement.
Some people aren't taking not being allowed to shoot off fireworks well and a group in Beachwood is reportedly taking it out on Volunteer Firefighters.
