Updated Models Reveal New Jersey’s Snow Forecast For This Winter
Will New Jersey see some solid snow coverage as we inch closer and closer to winter?
We've had a pretty mild few weeks in Jersey, just on Halloween it was sunny and nearly 80 degrees, so the thought of sub-zero temps with a few inches of fresh powder falling down is crazy to think about.
But anymore, the weather is crazy so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for us to start seeing snow in Jersey.
Will New Jersey See Snow This Winer?
There are a couple of things that can affect whether or not we see snow in the Garden State.
For example, NJ.com reports that there are a few key things to look for when forecasting snow; a tight polar vortex, warm water temps in the Gulf of Mexico and Northern Pacific, and a week La Nino are all things that need to be taken into consideration.

A La Nino, by the way, is a weather pattern that involves unusually cold ocean temperatures.
So, if we have a weak La Nino this year, it's not going to be looking good for a snow outlook.
Predictions For Winter In New Jersey This Year
There are several different predictions floating around according to NJ.com, but they all say pretty much the same thing.
Most of New Jersey will see average or above-average temperatures this Winter, and a more below-than-average chance of snow.
NJ.com reports that the Farmers Almanac holds out hope though reporting that NJ will see storms with above-average snowfall.
Seeing how the Farmers Almanac is usually right 50% of the time, statistically, there's a chance we could see snow.
According to the science-based models though, it's not looking to likely that the Jersey Shore will see snow, North Jersey though could see consistent snow coverage throughout the year.
