It's a Friday night, and you and some friends decide to bar-hop from Asbury Park down to Seaside Heights.

I know, an ambitious goal, but you'll be taking an Uber each step of the way, so no big deal.

You finish up at the first bar, order your Uber, and wait patiently.

After a bit you see a car pull up near you with the license plate of your Uber and walk over to get in but notice something strange.

The vehicle looks like a normal Uber vehicle, except there's no one in the driver's seat!

You get in the car, and despite no one being behind the wheel, the vehicle takes off down the Parkway to your next destination.

If that were you, would you get in the car? Or order another Uber that had a physical driver?

Driverless Uber Could Be A Thing In The Future In New Jersey, And The Rest Of The Country

Back in October, Motional, a company that focuses on creating safe, driverless vehicles, announced they'd teamed up with Uber. 

I was skeptical when I heard about this at first too, but then I stumbled upon a Tik Tok User, David Stang, who actually ordered and rode in a driverless Uber.

Yea, pretty crazy!

I'm a pretty trusting person, but I don't think I'll be hopping into an Uber that doesn't have a person behind the wheel.

Half the fun of Ubering is the awkward small talk you get to make with the driver!

Right now, it doesn't look like we'll have to worry about self-driving Uber on the road in New Jersey, but Motional and Uber plan to have a driverless fleet across the Country within the next ten years.
