There are some restaurants that claim to be one-of-a-kind, and unique, while others you can clearly see are.

Shut Up And Eat in Toms River comes to mind as one of the one-of-a-kinds, the food is good and the vibe is fantastic.

Hooks in Seaside Heights is another one that I'd call one-of-a-kind; it's a pirate-themed restaurant, the bar is shaped like a pirate ship, and they have a bunch of fun arcade games.

Unfortunately, no matter how unique a restaurant may be, in today's economy, no one is one hundred percent safe, and that was made clear in Medford New Jersey.

A local restaurant is getting ready to close its doors that was known for its fun, quirky, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

This place features four very distinct dining rooms, brightly colored walls, and award-winning food.

Seriously!

Back in 2008, this place was featured on Food Network's "Throwdown With Bobby Flay" for a grilled cheese battle.

What's even tougher about accepting that this place is closing is that they always had a full calendar of fun events.

From trivia nights to balloon nights, to featuring food trucks, this restaurant was heavily involved in the local community.

It was also a historic building.

The restaurant is located in the Burlington County National Bank building, and the utmost care was put into making sure that the original features of the building remained in tack, according to their website.

 What Local Restaurant In Medford, NJ Is Closing?

Sadly, this place announced on Facebook earlier this week that on October 26th, they'd be closing up shop.

NJ.com reported that The Pop Shop, in Medford New Jersey will be closing up shop but that their location in Collingswood will remain open.

In fact, according to the NJ.com article, it seems as though the business is focusing a lot of attention on the original location which opened its doors in 2007.

Now, it's always sad to see a cool place like this close-up shop, but there's kind of a silver lining.

What Is Replacing The Pop Shop In Medford, NJ?

Rather than some big box store or big brand moving into the former location of the Pop Shop, it appears like a local business will be moving in.

According to NJ.com, a company called Cornerstone PEO will be taking over the building.

Cornerstone PEO, according to its website, is a professional employer organization that focuses on payroll, benefits, risk management, and workers comp.

So while it's a bummer that the fun 50s and 60s-themed Pop Shop is closing its doors, I'm happy to see that at least another local business will be able to grow in its place.
