Nominate A Family For The 2020 Free Beer & Hot Wings Holiday Break-In

It's that time of year again - the Free Beer & Hot Wings Holiday Break-In! On this day, FBHW take a break from the usual shenanigans and use the reach that this radio show has to do some good.

Every year, we ask you to nominate a family who has fallen on some hard times. There are plenty of bad things that happen to good people during a regular year, but adding in the nonstop stress that has been 2020, we understand that just about everyone has had a hard time.

Maybe you were lucky and were able to keep working and keep an income, but there are plenty of people who lost jobs, lost hours, or even lost their entire business. These people are our neighbors, our friends, our coworkers, people we go to church with, whatever it is. We want you to nominate a family who, for whatever reason, isn't going to have the Christmas they deserve.

You can nominate a family HERE. Make sure you scroll down and choose "New Jersey - Monmouth/Ocean - 105.7 the Hawk" so the submissions get to the right place (it won't help if you nominate a family from Forked River and the info goes to Illinois). And please, when you nominate a family, be as detailed as possible. Let us know how many kids they have, how old they are, just as many details as you can. We just ask that you DO NOT nominate yourself, or anyone you live with.

There is also an added caveat for this year: please make sure that a family you nominate has been obeying pandemic restrictions, and will be okay with a group of strangers entering their home. We understand that if you were to come home to a room full of presents, you might have some hesitation about the cleanliness. We're doing everything we can to stay clean and healthy on our side, so we also ask that you don't put us at risk by entering a house where someone is sick.

If we choose your nomination, your work is only beginning! You will become our "accomplice", and help us bring a Christmas miracle to the family. We'll need you to give us more info on the family (interests, clothing sizes, etc), and then you'll have to help us get them out of the house, or at least let us know when the home will be empty so our gang of elves and hooligans can "break in" and leave behind presents, a tree, decorations, and whatever else the family needs!
