Nearly half-a-million homes could receive power from NJ's first off-shore wind farm.

The Danish energy company Ørsted just received the state's first grant from the Board of Public Utilities to build "Ocean Wind", a 1,100-megawatt wind farm that will be located about 15 miles off the coast of Atlantic City.

One of Governor Murphy's campaign points was to have NJ get 100% of its power via clean energy by 2050 - there is a smaller goal of having 3,500 megawatts of wind power by 2030, so this 1,100 megawatt project is a strong step in the right direction.
