Historic New Jersey Snowstorm Brings Out The Best In Local Communities
Let's be honest, the snow is not fun when you're an adult. When we have a blizzard, like we do today in Jersey, odds are you still have to figure out a way to get into work and go about your daily life. That means waking up early to shovel out, leaving extra early so you can safely get where you're going, and then driving with your hands gripped on the wheel because driving in a blizzard is far from enjoyable.

But there are also a lot of positives when a massive storm like this rolls through Jersey. People seem to care more about one another; we see neighbors helping neighbors, and we see communities start to come together for a few days while we shovel out and recover.
Where I live, Ocean Gate, absolutely exemplifies this spirit of caring during times of severe weather.
Neighbors Reaching Out To Help While The Snow Piles Up
All over our town's Facebook group, I'm seeing people reaching out offering help shoveling out driveways, offering some extra food they may have if anyone runs out, and offering to salt walkways and driveways for when this snow eventually freezes up and causes some slippery situations.

Neighbors Are Even Helping Local Plows Get The Roads Back To Normal
My neighbor, across the street from me, even attached a plow to his truck and has been spending his morning driving around a few blocks of the town trying to get people plowed out, so they can get on with their day.
It's not often we get a historic snowstorm like this, but it's great to see everyone in Jersey looking out for one another, even if it's only for a few days of bad weather.
