Netflix Is Making More Changes In 2025, And New Jersey Won’t Be Happy About Them
Have you cut the cord yet, or are you still tied in with your cable company?
Cutting the cord at one point was the best way to "stick it to the man" and get out of ridiculous cable company increases and charges by simply canceling cable, and signing up for one or two streaming platforms that offer the content you wanted.

But now that streaming services have become so popular, and there are services for sports, movies, TV shows, separate TV channels, etc, the cost of "cutting the cord" is almost as expensive as cable, and some companies continue to make changes to try and squeeze more money out of customers.
When Netflix launched in April of 1998, the idea of getting a DVD sent to your home via snail mail was revolutionary, then in 2007, the company changed how we consume content when they launched their first streaming service.
Now, Netflix is one of the most common household streaming services with over 300 Million subscribers!
I remember when you could stream Netflix for free, so long as you had a DVD plan, and then the price went to $7.99 for just streaming in 2010.

Now, Netflix Plans To Increase Prices Again For Customers
New Jersey is a state that's very tied in with Netflix, I mean the company is getting ready to build a massive production and filming studio in Monmouth County.
That being said, we hate seeing a price hike which will be happening soon with Netflix.
According to USA Today the standard ad-supported version of Netflix will increase from $6.99 to $7.99, the standard ad-free option will increase from $15.49 to $17.99 and the premium tier will increase from $22.99 to $24.99.
Netflix is also releasing an "extra member with ads" plan where subscribers can add a user to their account for an additional $6.99 per month. There's also an ad-free extra member, but that would cost you an extra $8.99 a month.
My wife and I use the ad-supported tier of Netflix, and we use Netflix enough that we can justify the monthly expense, but each year all of these streaming services increase by a dollar here and a dollar there, it almost makes cable look like an attractive product again.
That being said, we are pretty excited about Netflix opening in Jersey!
