The part of Brick that runs up along the Metedeconck River is one of those places that can be miserable to get to. You can only take Beaver Dam Road, Midstreams Road, or the long way around and come all the way up around the 70/88 intersection.

Trying to get to and from Windward Beach Park for Summerfest, or just to visit the park, was a hassle thanks to on-going construction on the Midstreams Bridge that lasted 16 months and forced traffic to alternate routes.

Finally, the construction is done and the bridge has re-opened!

The bridge had originally been built in in 1962, and engineers discovered that the bridge was essentially being supported by its own weight for years, requiring more work than originally anticipated.
