Are We Skipping Fall in New Jersey? The Holiday Rush Is Starting Way Too Soon
I feel as though once we hit October in Jersey, it's basically the end of the year, especially with how quickly the Christmas Holiday stuff is put up on display.
We Get Into The Holiday Season Too Fast In New Jersey

And I think I mention that I have this issue almost every year, but I really feel like we need to slow things down this time of year, rather than speed things up.
This all really stems from a display I saw at the Shoprite in Bayville last night. I was going in for some last-minute things to cook dinner, and walked past this massive display of eggnog.
Eggnog, Already On Display At Local Grocery Stores
Traditionally, a "drink" you really only see during the Christmas season, prominently on display near the dairy section.

It's not just the eggnog displays, though; we're already seeing commercials for holiday decor on TV, and stores are already ramping up (as you can see above) their holiday stock for when the rush hits.
We Should Try And Slow Down During The Holiday Season, To Really Enjoy Them
Maybe it's just a part of getting older, but I remember as a kid, October was all out Halloween, November was all about Thanksgiving until the last two weeks of the month or so, and then after that it was off to the races with Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the tons of other holidays that fall around that time of year.
So maybe we could try to take a breather this year, slow down, and just take a minute to remember to enjoy the holidays this year.
