RWJBarnabas Health and the Lakewood BlueClaws teamed up to bring baseball back to young athletes living in a town in Puerto Rico that was devastated by Hurricane Maria.

The 'Claws and RWJBarnabas held an equipment drive at First Energy Park in Lakewood, collecting dozens of bats, balls, gloves, helmets, caps, and tshirts. The gear was brought to Puerto Rico and delivered to the town of Loiza.

I love this gesture from the BlueClaws and RJWBarnabas. I played baseball when I was a kid, plenty of my little cousins did, and it's still a bond between so many people. Giving these kids some real equipment and letting them be kids it so great.
