It’s Not A Shark Tale; A Huge Great White Shark Was Pinged Off The Coast Of New Jersey
Imagine taking an afternoon to walk down the boardwalk in Point Pleasant.
You enjoy watching the waves crash onto the beach, you look at all the cool and unique houses that meet the boards, and eventually, you make your way to the inlet at the end of the boardwalk.
You watch a few fishermen cast their lines, you see some boats cross through the inlet into the ocean, and then you spot a fin pop up from the water.
That fin, you soon realize, is connected to a massive Great White Shark!
It's not an excerpt from Jaws, turns out there's a massive Great White lurking in the waters right off the Jersey Shore.
A Massive Great White Shark Was Pinged Near The Manasquan Inlet
This thing is massive too, according to APP the Great White is OCEARCH tagged for research, and set off a ping to researchers that the share was just off the coast of the Manasquan Inlet.
The male shark weighs in at 1,644 pounds and was named Scot by researchers.
I never thought I'd hear of a shark named Scot, but I love that.
APP reports the shark was first spotted and tagged off the coast of Nova Scotia, and they named the shark Scot after the people of that country.

Despite the fact that this huge Great White was tracked just off the coast of Jersey, you don't need to worry about Scot for a few reasons.
Mainly, right now it's November and you probably aren't swimming in the ocean.
Scot was also pinged a few miles off the coast of New Jersey in a trench that's known to be rich in Tuna, so the shark is more interested in eating fish than anything else.
Unless provoked, Sharks typically don't pay people any mind, although seeing a 12-foot, 1,600-pound Great White may shock the heck out of you.
What's cool about Scot is that he's been tracked for a while, and has made quite the journey traveling from Nova Scotia, down to Florida, he's swimming through Jersey, and regularly moves up and down the Atlantic seaboard.
