A former teacher with Toms River Regional Schools has been arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with a 16-year old in September of 2007, while he was a teacher at Toms River Intermediate East.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little announced that Shawn C. Lee, 47 of Toms River, has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:14-2c(3)(b).

The arrest comes after a month long investigation by the Toms River Police Department and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Lee is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
