This weekend, for the 12th time, the undead will rise and roam the streets of Asbury Park!

If you've never been there, or are a veteran zombie who just needs a reminder, here's what you need to know:

11am - The festivities kick off at the Grand Arcade at Convention Hall. You'll be able to buy souvenirs, and get your makeup professionally done (for a fee) inside Convention Hall.

1pm - Outside of the Paramount Theatre, you can shake the dust off your dance moves with the Thriller dance workshop.

2pm - Jell-O Brain Eating contest! BRAAAAAAAAINS.

2-3pm - Judges will be walking through the crowd searching for the best costumes in categories like Best Adult, Best Child, Best Couple, and Best Group.

4pm - The walk steps off from Convention Hall. The zombies will shuffle and stumble down the boardwalk, turning up Cookman, then Mattison, then Main Street.

6pm - The official after-party takes place at Johnny Mac's, and will include the announcement of the day's costume contest winners.

The weather for Saturday is looking great, no rain and temps around 60. Better weather should mean larger crowds, so take that into consideration for your travel plans. The first year I attended, my group took the train (which got some great reactions from the regular train-riders) but since then I've just made sure to get there early to find a parking spot.

Even if you don't want to dress up, there are always a lot of people who just line the boardwalk or Cookman Avenue to take pictures. The various bars and restaurants and shops along the route also feature Zombie Walk specials, so shop local!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this year (my friends didn't check the Zombie Walk schedule while planning their wedding), so I'll count on you to be extra undead for me!
