There are plenty of holiday activities around the Jersey Shore; I love the Asbury Park Holiday Bazaar, I love visiting some of the festivals at Smithville. If you're looking to expand and discover a new place, you need to check out this huge Christmas Village in Philadelphia.

The Village has a 'sneak preview' on Saturday November 23rd and Sunday November 24th, but the full experience kicks off on Thanksgiving, Thursday November 28th, and runs DAILY through Christmas Eve, Tuesday December 24th.

There are a ton of family-friendly events, including Story Time with the Free Library of Philadelphia, a huge carousel, a lantern parade, and of course visits from Santa.

The village is dog-friendly too!

The Village embraces German traditions, and the food court features gingerbread, fresh-made waffles, bratwurst, schnitzels, käsespätzle (soft cheese egg noodles freshly made in a huge cast-iron pan, decorated with onions), draft beers, Döner Kebab, Belgian Fries, traditional German Glühwein (spiced mulled wine served hot) and hot chocolate.

Other highlights include:

  • Wine Tasting Events with Chaddsford Winery
  • Beer Tasting Events with Brewery Techne
  • Over 80 local and international venders
  • German-American Weekend on December 14th and 15th with German Dance Groups and a lantern parade
  • HoHo Happy Hours for discounted food and drinks
