5 Places In Ocean County, NJ I Wouldn’t Take Even My Worst Enemy
There are a lot of great things about living in New Jersey; in fact, of all the places my radio career has taken me over the past decade or so, I'm happy to be able to call Jersey my home.
Now that I've lived in Jersey for the better part of 5 years, I've started considering myself a bit of a local, and with that, have developed some opinions on things that most Jersey locals have opinions on.

For example, I have very strong feelings about the intersection of Veeder Road and Ocean Gate Drive; does it have to be that chaotic? I feel like some street signs may help.
I've also come into my own opinions on where to get the best bagels (Ricky Bagel), the best bar pies (Anchor Inn), and, as far as ice cream goes, Iceburg in Lavallette takes the cake for me.
Places In NJ I Wouldn't Take Even My Worst Enemy
I've also got opinions on places I'd never force anyone to visit in Jersey, even if they were my worst enemies
1. A Wawa During The Lunch Rush

Look, Wawa is the best place to grab a quick something to eat, a coffee, and some gas. Plus, watching traffic from the parking lot in the early morning is the best.
However, at lunchtime, it's crowded, the parking lot is insane, and you may lose your mind before you get your Shorti.
2. Seaside Heights On Memorial Day Or The 4th Of July
I love Seaside, especially in the off-season; however, you couldn't force me to head over to the island on a holiday; the crowds, the bennies, and the parking are enough to drive you crazy!
3. Anywhere Along Route 37 During Rush Hour
Sure, there are tons of cool local businesses off 37, and you should visit them, but plan your trip accordingly because if you get stuck on 37 during rush hour, your quick 3-mile drive may take you the better part of 25 or 30 minutes.
4. Parker House On A Saturday Night In Season
Okay, so this one isn't in Ocean County... but still.
There was a time in my life when this was the epitome of summer at the shore. There was nothing more fun than meeting your crew and seeing where the night would take you. Nowadays, the idea of being crammed into a club surrounded by strangers with house music blaring in my ears sounds like a nightmare. Maybe I'm just getting old, though.
5. Delilah's Den
It's an institution, that's for sure. And I'm sure it's a great club, but there's something about a club off Route 9 that just rubs me the wrong way, no pun intended, of course, we all have a story about this place, don't we?
By the way, if you are looking to move to Jersey, here's why I think moving to Ocean Gate is the best choice you can make.
