Today Captain James T. Kirk,  ummm...I mean William Shatner will be the oldest person ever to go into space. Quite fitting isn't it? Jeff Bezos is the mastermind behind Blue Origin and the mission to have  New Shepard launch Mr. Shatner and three others into space this morning at 10am EST and you can watch it all in real time...

New Shepard will lift off from Blue Origin's Launch Site One, near the West Texas town of Van Horn.   You can watch the mission live here.

Lots of people have been wondering if this journey is safe for a man in his 90s. Experts said that it is no more dangerous than him taking a ride on a rollercoaster. I'm not sure that would put me at ease if I'm William Shatner...do you see many 90 year olds hopping on the Jersey Devil?

Well, if anyone can do it he can...his travel partners will be right by his side.  I just learned that the entire ride will only last about 11 minutes. Which tells you how powerful and fast New Shepard must be.  That is the same amount of time it takes me to run downstairs and buy a donut from Uncle Doods downstairs.

Godspeed Captain Kirk and everyone aboard...we'll be watching!
