Things got a little scary today for two people who were just enjoying this beautiful day fishing on their 25-foot fishing boat just a few dozen yards off the beach in Seaside Park.

A whale jumped out of the ocean this morning landing on a fishing boat while sending the two men into the water.  The men were able to safely get back to the beach, and reports are saying that whale appeared to fine and just kept swimming away.

The fishing boat took the brunt of the damage as it capsized and washed ashore on the beach.

There have been a lot of sightings of whales and dolphins this spring up and down the Jersey Shore. Normally we see dolphins throughout the Summer, but it seems that we are seeing more whales this year, than in year's past.

There have been sightings of humpback whales in Long Branch and around Manasquan over the last few weeks.
